Youth Spoken Word Contest Canceled: The Wortham Center has decided to cancel the Youth Spoken Word Contest. We are committed to supporting our community during recovery and rebuilding following Tropical Storm Helene. Please stay tuned for other artistic opportunities once Wortham can safely open. ALL CLASSES are canceled through the end of October, including all Stewart/Owen Dance October Session classes. Students will be contacted via Wortham Box Office correspondence with more information. Those who purchased October packages can expect to receive an email regarding next steps.

Dear Friends,
We hope you and your loved ones are safe. Due to current conditions following the Hurricane Helene, Wortham Center is temporarily closed, and events and classes are canceled for this week. Further updates will be posted as they are available.
Wortham Center is unharmed. All staff are accounted for and safe. Thank you for your patience while communication is limited due to power and internet outages. We will reopen as soon as it is possible to do so and will continue to harness the power of the arts to uplift, connect and heal our treasured community.
If you have tickets or are registered for a class that is cancelled or postponed, please wait until the box office can reopen and send you correspondence regarding next steps. More information about rescheduled event dates, exchange and refund procedures will be available at that time.
In the meantime, thank you for your understanding and your support of Wortham Center and our Western North Carolina community during this difficult time. Stay safe, sing, play instruments, tell stories and hug each other often.
