Safety Policies and Procedures
In an effort to reduce exposure to COVID-19 for patrons, artists, staff and volunteers, Wortham Center for the Performing Arts is taking every precaution to keep you safe. As conditions shift, safety policies will be updated as necessary based on the recommendations of the CDC, state and local health agencies. Please check back regularly for the most current guidelines.
Subject to artist requirements, masks are optional at most events but strongly suggested for all patrons regardless of vaccination status.
Please stay home if: you have tested positive for COVID-19; are awaiting test result; or experiencing any symptoms, such as but not limited to: fever or chills, cough, sore throat, nausea, loss of taste or smell, or shortness of breath.
Additional COVID-19 procedures at Wortham Center include:
- Upgrades to HVAC systems, including increased filtration and a new air purification system using needlepoint bipolar ionization technology, create safe, clean indoor spaces and eliminate 99.4 percent of airborne SARS-COVID virus particles. Learn more
- A vaccination requirement for all staff members.
- Surface disinfection before and after performances with an electrostatic sprayer, using EPA-approved, food-safe biocide, is designed to kill coronavirus on surfaces within minutes.
- Continued adherence to guidance from the CDC, state and local agencies to protect the health of audiences and artists.
COVID-19 Ticketing
For the 22-23 season, Wortham Center will offer ticket insurance to allow patrons to purchase tickets with confidence.
