Arts for All Kids
Children who learn through the arts develop self-confidence, creative problem-solving skills, empathy for others and a broader understanding of the world around them. All children should have these opportunities for personal growth, regardless of financial and accessibility barriers.
Funded by corporate, foundation and individual donors, Arts for All Kids makes it possible for all students in Western North Carolina to benefit from arts programming at the Wortham, ensuring no child misses out on drawing important connections between the classroom and the stage.
How does it work?
Arts for All Kids scholarships cover the cost of admission to Student Series performances, as well as tuition for creative arts summer camps. Scholarships are given to students who otherwise would not have the chance to experience performing arts programming at the Wortham.
Teachers must provide verification of the number of students in the group that are eligible for funds (form provided) and must fully complete the application to be considered for funding approval.
Who can apply?
Scholarships are available to public school students who qualify for free or reduced lunch or who are recommended by a counselor, administrator or teacher based on financial need. Contact the box office for questions regarding eligibility.
How do I apply?
To apply, first fill out the Group Reservation Form. Then complete the Arts for All Kids scholarship application. You will be notified via email of the funding decision. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
Other Requirements
Teachers receiving Arts for All Kids support agree to work with their class to complete and submit a set of pre- and post-show exercises which are provided by the Wortham Center.
