Wortham Center’s ARTS RISING! initiative, conceived in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, was created to uplift and bring the community together, while also making the arts more accessible in this challenging time. As downtown Asheville reopens, the Wortham Center welcomes longtime patrons and newcomers alike to experience the healing power of the arts through ARTS RISING!
“ARTS RISING! is rooted in community building,” says Rae Geoffrey, managing director of the Wortham Center. “We created this initiative knowing that, through experiencing live music, dance, theatre and simply being together, we all find strength and hope. The arts have a unique power to heal communities. Wortham is committed to increasing access to the arts for our community at this difficult time to bring joy, light and connection as we recover from Hurricane Helene.”
Those interested in purchasing discounted show tickets or registering for reduced price/pay-what-you-can classes through this initiative should check the website or the Wortham’s social media pages for the “ARTS RISING!” logo on select upcoming performances and class announcements. ARTS RISING! ticket sales for these select performances begin at noon the day before the show, until all tickets are sold.
Pop-up galleries and featured artists will be announced via social media and website.
ARTS RISING! discounted tickets are $15 + tax (no additional fees) for all ages. Limit four (4) ARTS RISING! tickets per performance. Offer is not applicable to tickets already purchased.
