Technical Director
The Wortham Center for Performing Arts’ Technical Director is the department head, managing all backstage staff, functions, and events for the Wortham Center and its three venues: Diana Wortham Theatre, Tina McGuire Theatre, and Henry LaBrun Studio.
Responsibilities include managing, training and growing back-of-house staff, ensuring excellent production standards and results for events, maintaining safety protocols and procedures, and overseeing capital and facility-related projects.
The Technical Director:
- Must be passionate about the arts and dedicated to advancing the field.
- Leads a staff of two full-time and 40 part-time employees.
- Maintains backstage and all technical spaces in a safe, organized, and clean state.
- Participates in load-ins, lighting hangs, sound installations, rehearsals, performances/events ad strikes when necessary.

Marketing Manager
The Marketing Manager plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Wortham Center by managing integrated marketing campaigns to increase ticket sales, deepen audience engagement, and enhance the organization’s visibility.
The Marketing Manager focuses on managing digital marketing efforts, implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns, and coordinating promotional materials to ensure effective audience outreach and brand consistency.
Responsibilities include:
- digital marketing and social media, including email marketing campaigns, website content updates and SEO optimization, social media and paid digital campaigns, and performance tracking and analyzation.
- marketing and communications, including campaigns to support ticket sales, coordination of the creation of marketing materials including brochures, playbills, and posters, copy writing and proofreading of marketing content, and media outreach efforts.
- audience development and sales support, including targeted efforts to attract new and diverse audiences, initiatives such as special promotions and partnerships, the solicitation of new playbill advertisers, and cross-promotional opportunities with local businesses and arts organizations.
- administrative and cross-departmental support, including printing and distribution of materials, maintaining marketing databases, and the preparation of sales reports and marketing performance summaries.

Assistant Facilities Manager
The Assistant Facilities Manager works with the Facilities Manager and staff to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and upkeep of the Wortham Center and its venues. Qualifications include previous experience in custodial, housekeeping, or related field, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities include:
- performing and supervising tasks related to HVAC, security, safety, yearly inspections, service vendors, custodial and groundskeeping.
- managing part-time staff as needed.
- supporting the Facilities Manager in daily operations and long-term facility planning.
Special considerations include being required to walk, stand, and lift up to 40 lbs., having reliable transportation, and working morning, night, and weekend work shifts based on projects and performance schedules.

Theatre Technicians
The Wortham Center for Performing Arts is seeking freelance technicians to support events in the Diana Wortham Theatre, Tina McGuire Theatre and Henry LaBrun Studio.
Hourly, part-time positions are available throughout the year, with variable hours based on event schedules. The Wortham offers a supportive and well-equipped environment for artists to fulfill their vision and allow technicians to perform in a professional and safe environment.
Technicians are required to:
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception.
- Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may including but are not limited to: walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time; lifting, stooping, climbing, bending, and carrying heavy materials; operating assigned equipment; and handling varied tasks simultaneously.

Custodian
The custodial staff is part of a dynamic team advancing the mission of the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts by maintaining a clean and pleasant space for our vibrant community of artists, students, and patrons.
Custodians perform a variety of duties including the care and cleaning of performances spaces, lobby, facilities and other building areas. Work is repetitive in nature, requiring efficient performance of simple and heavy-duty building cleaning and maintenance duties. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through inspection of completed tasks.
This is an hourly, part-time position with a minimum of 25-29 hours per week. The position will remain open until filled. Wortham Center for the Performing Arts offers competitive pay and a pleasant work environment.

Wortham Center Internship Program
Arts administration and theatre production internship opportunities are available throughout the year at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts. Internships are best suited for local college or upper high school students who seek hands-on experience in the field and/or class credit. Unless otherwise specified, internships are unpaid.
