Intro to Contemporary Dance with Stewart/Owen Dance

Class Cancellation: All Stewart/Owen Dance October Session classes are canceled. Those who have already purchased October classes and/or packages can expect to receive an email in the coming days regarding next steps.

For folks just getting started on their Contemporary Dance journey- this class gently awakens the body and senses through a follow-along warmup and culminates in a choreographed phrase that is repeated over the course of the session. Movers of any experience level are welcome and encouraged to modify for their own bodies’ needs!

September Session — Sept. 4, Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Sept. 25 (four weeks) = $64
October Session CXLD — Oct. 2, Oct. 9, Oct. 16, Oct. 23, Oct. 30 (five weeks) = $80
November Session — Nov. 6, Nov. 13, Nov. 20 (three weeks) = $48

About the instructor: Megan Jones Medford received a BA in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She spent six years living in NYC as a professional dancer and teacher. Along with free-lance work Megan was a company member with Periapsis Music & Dance, LiNK! the movement, and Shauna Sorensen and Dancers. Some of her performances include SummerStage, Jazz at the Lincoln Center, American Dance Guild Festival, Symphony Space, New York Moves, Carnival, and Choreographers Canvas. Megan trained with Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Martha Graham School, and American Dance Festival. She was on faculty for the Children & Teen Program at Broadway Dance Center and All Star Studios in NYC. She has guest taught and choreographed for studios and conventions around the States. Megan moved back to her hometown of Asheville, NC to start a family and to continue to share the art of dance through teaching and performing. Megan has been dancing with Stewart/Owen Dance since 2020.
