FAQ
Tickets
How soon before the show can I pick up my tickets?
The Wortham Center Box Office and lobby opens one-and-a-half hours prior to performance time. Guests may pick up their will-call tickets at any point between that time and the show — or during regular box office hours in the days leading up to the show. When purchasing tickets in advance, guests may also choose to have tickets emailed or mailed to their address. Student rush tickets, if available, may only be purchased after noon on the day of the event with a valid student I.D. Call the Box Office in advance at 828-257-4530 to inquire if student rush tickets are available. Note: The Wortham Center Box Office is currently operating only by phone to limit guests’ and staff exposure to COVID-19.
What if I misplace my ticket?
Lost tickets may be replaced by calling the Box Office at 828-257-4530 or by emailing boxoffice@worthamarts.org. Please be prepared to show a photo I.D. when picking up tickets.
Will you take a mobile ticket?
Tickets purchased online in advance may be scanned from your phone, unless otherwise noted on the ticket or in the pre-show email.
What are your ticket policies?
All sales are final, and tickets are nonrefundable. No later than 48 hours before showtime, for Wortham Center Presents events only, you may exchange your tickets for another event in the Wortham Center Presents season, turn your tickets in for account credit to be used toward another Wortham Center Presents event, or donate your tickets to the Wortham Center. Tickets within the same run of shows can be exchanged at any time according to seating availability. For more about our ticketing policies, visit our Policies & Procedures page.
If a performance is canceled or rescheduled, ticket-holders will be notified via email. Tickets will be transferred to the rescheduled date or refunded in the event of cancelation.

Arrival & During the Performance
When should I arrive?
The Wortham Center Box Office and lobby open one-and-a-half hours prior to performance time. At that time, guests can pick up tickets at will-call, purchase beverages and snacks from concessions and socialize with other patrons of the theatre. Theatre doors generally open for seating half an hour before the scheduled performance time.
It is recommended that guests plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime to budget for time spent parking, getting to the theatre, picking up tickets, visiting concessions or the restroom and getting seated.
What happens if I’m late?
Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management. Those arriving late and those who leave the theatre at any point during a performance may be asked to wait for an appropriate break in the performance to be seated or return to their seats. The theatre’s ushers will direct you at that time.
What should I wear?
Some of our patrons enjoy dressing up for an evening at the Wortham Center, and others prefer to wear more casual clothing at performances. Feel free to wear whatever makes you most comfortable, as long as it does not obscure the view of those around you. We do ask that our patrons refrain from wearing heavy perfumes and colognes, as other guests may be allergic or sensitive to certain smells.
What is your bag policy?
- For the safety and security of all patrons, artists and staff, please travel light when visiting the Wortham Center.
- Small handheld purses, clutches and wallets are recommended.
- Bags larger than 12”x 12”x 10”, including backpacks, oversized bags, large purses and camera bags, are prohibited.
- Guests will be asked to return non approved bags to their vehicles. Please note that Wortham does not have a bag check.
- Diaper bags are approved when guests are accompanied by a child. Medically necessary bags are also permitted.
Do you have a coat check?
Yes, the Nancy Ackermann Cole Coat Check is located between the Box Office and the Henry LaBrun Studio. Items that can be checked include coats, hats, umbrellas, backpacks, and luggage and food items.
Is food or drink allowed in the theatre during performances?
Snacks and beverages may be purchased at the Bill & Jerry McAninch Cafe to the far left of the lobby. Items purchased through concessions may be taken into the theatre and (quietly) enjoyed during the performance, with consideration to those around you at all times. With the exception of water, outside food and drink is not permitted in the theatre at any time.
Are photos or video allowed?
Cameras, camcorders, tablets and audio recording devices are not permitted inside the theatre at any time. We ask that guests do not use their cell phones during performances, and power off all electronic devices.
Do you have a lost and found?
If you lose an item while attending a performance at the Wortham Center, call the box office at 828-257-4530, ext. 1 during normal operating hours, and a staff member will be happy to assist you.
